Boosting Bioeconomy Knowledge in Schools

For the first day's of the event activities on Monday,  I looked more into the topics of bioeconomy and ecology. This was vital for me as I am not a specialist in these topics but I felt like these had to brought up since ecological problems are so important for the humanity nowadays.

On the first day of the event, three lessons on Bioeconomy Knowledge which, in my opinion, a very vital to know topic since humanity is facing so many various ecology problems now. The lessons involved three different classes, students of which were in the age of 14-17. The first part of the lessons was the introduction of the topic of bioeconomy.  The introduction involved finding out what the general knowledge about bioeconomy the students have and what they imagined bioeconomy was in general. The next part was showing the students how Maths, Physics and other subjects, such as Chemistry and Biology, can be applied to this topic and how they can help solve environmental issues. In this part, students also recalled the main important basics about the website Tinkercad. Finally, the students created models of different objects in Tinkercad in groups of 4. Later on, the objects were printed out with a 3D printer at our school and exhibited later.  After the exhibition all the groups gathered together and reflected on what new they got to know and how they thing they could contribute to improve the global bioeconomy level.
